My name is Mikki Young and I take fanciful photos.

I am a female hobbyist photographer. I started out to keep my husband company but have gone on to qualify with the Royal Photographic Society.

I have won awards for individual pictures from various organisations.  I have obtained the photographers bar for people and the open category from the Guild of Photographers.  That means I have shown a consistent quality of work over a year of competition.

I am constantly learning new skills, both in taking photographs and in editing them.  Editing can be as simple as minor corrections and enhancements or as extreme as whole new fantasy worlds. Both have their own satisfaction.

I now photograph models, landscapes and cityscapes and a wide variety of other subjects.  Themed events are a lot of fun too and some of the outfits and set designs that people create are simply inspiring.

Photography has given me the chance to travel, meet lots of lovely people and let loose my creative instincts.  It has given massive enjoyment in retirement and I hope to continue for years to come.  I can't wait to see what the future holds.
